Why do I need to go to Church if I believe in God?
You don’t need to go to Church to be saved or to talk to God, but there are good logical reasons why you should at least consider it!
I have a Peugeot – not a posh car, and generally it runs quite well. If I continue to drive it and never take it to the Garage, there comes a point when it will let me down, or in the worst case, cause a serious accident.
Church and God are no different 😊 Many people have had extended breaks from their Church – and that’s absolutely their choice , but how much are they missing? I suspect quite a lot actually, the encouragement, the fellowship, and a structure that supports their walk with God? The Bible reminds us in Hebrews 10:25:
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

And Psalms 133:1 reminds us: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
But if your church has become a religious institution, bound in stone, then you may indeed be better in your own space than trying to reconcile inflexible, judgmental and dogmatic leadership against true Love.
Jesus didn’t like religion either – just look at how he addressed the Pharisees!

But not all Churches are like that! Here at Gate Family Church, our philosophy centers on Love, acceptance and a non-judgmental attitude. It isn’t up to us to make that final call on anyone’s life. We’re just here to steer you in the right direction, support you, build you up, and ultimately to make sure you are running like a well serviced and loved car (although probably not a Peugeot) 😊
